So I've been meaning to write a couple posts. But I've been too unmotivated to do so. I wanted to post a photo go with at least one of them but its been at least a month that I've been wanting to do that and I may still take the photo.
Fancy New Watch
Imagine a cool photo of a Nike Sportwatch GPS here...
I picked a new watch in February. It knows how far I run, it knows how fast I run, it knows my heart rate, it tells time and tells me to run if I don't run for 5 or so days. I've been running a lot more since I picked it up. I was surprised to find I was running so much more since I picked it up. Then I struck me, I love the extra data it logs and seeing the little route maps, seeing my heart rate changes on various parts of the course and how it relates to pace/hills/conditions, and better lap/distance tracking. I can also train smarter, by working in target heart rate zones. It can also pretty much run an interval workout for you.
Race Day was Saturday the 10th
Ran a 5k at Alton Baker Park the "Run for the Shamrock" (proceeds go to Sheldon High School). I placed 22nd overall. I got a 2nd place ribbon for my age division (30-34). My friend Andrew took first in his age division (20-24 I think) and he got a hat. After the race I ordered my self a new pair of shoes at Eugene Running Company then I proceeded to get some drinks at my favorite bar. It was a pretty good Saturday.
So that is one race of 2012 down of at least 2 more to go, likely a few more than that...Posted by Ben at March 12, 2012 08:48 AM
