Tiffany was talking about the arangement of her appartment last night and I made a sugestion. She liked it and we spent the next few hours moving a few things around in it. It was kinda fun, kinda scary, and could have been much worse...

Also this morning I figured out what was up with Tiffany's DVD player not playing widescreen stuff like it should have been... This had been a srouce of frustration for me since i realized the problem. But now Its all goood...

If I end up with reasonalable ammounts of time on my hands this week I hope to start preparing to change update the site some.... I will over all be a slow process as I have a few old pages to convert/update or just remove....

Now to find something else todo....

It was great out yesterday and the days before today not so great. I want the nice weather back... Stupid weather teasing me.

Stoped by Fry's on our way back from dropping Tiffany's cousin off at the airport. Saw a neat little case for my laptop, didnt get it though. Saw lots of other neat stuff too.

Damn i need a real job. This one just gets more annoying and tring as time goes on. The stupid crap that they ask for. The endless hours of nothing. The stuff they may ask for. Next time i get a call about a symantec job I'm taking it and to hell with two weeks notice, I will be gone...

GRRR... Frustrated at stuff...

So ya. played ultimate again yesterday, it went really well. Had a good sized game, and a good game as well. Except my foot is now all sorts of fucked up and painful to walk on in multiple ways so maybe no more game for me for acouple of days.

On more of the plus side I had 2 decently impressive score is ultimate and a couple not so impressive ones as well. Also Tiffany helpe pick out a pair of sunglasses for me and I got to spend all of yesterday with her. And she comes back tomorrow...

I was just informed that I am to be attending a meeting/planning session on monday morning at 9:00am at the archives building. I'm really mixed on this. They are tring to make me much more of the team over here than I really want to be. Partly cause I really want out of here, partly cause they may actualy make me do some work, and a few other reasons that escape me now.

4:41pm: There are some new pictures up... They are of the game of ultimate yester that are me centric as Tiffany took them. Some are pretty decent.... also the small versisons are available. I will prolly be adding more of other stuff they just need to be sorted and whatnot... Look around add comments enjoy...

its a 4 day work week whee. Hopefuly there will be a few games of ulitmate with John, Chris and the others, i dont know who the others are they vary from game to game...

Good day. lazy and spent recovering from last nights festivitys. I'm finaly feeling mostly normal again. It was pretty fun. Chris and John hung out with Tiffany and I for most of the day it was nice and mellow.

mmm 3day weekends are goood... Tonight should be fun. Lastnight was dececnt too. I didn't know a damn person other than Tiffany though, today will be slightly better as I will know Tiffany and Rachel. And tonight should be even better cause Chris, John, Tiffany, Rachel, and others that I may know...

Tiffany's answering machine says she won a free trip to vegas... I dont think it's true but I suppose it could be.

I am all kinds of sore from that ultimate game. I'm feeling it head to the arches of my feet now. It kinda sucks. Just more realizing how damn out of shape i am... With any luck there will be many more games durring the week when im in salem and I will get back into some kind of shape....

Tonight I go to a cocktail party with Tiffany that one of her professors is having... Tomorrow I go to a bbq at one of Tiffany's friends granparents place, these granpartents are like Tiffany's other family and want to meet me. Then tomorrow night is a gathering at Tiffany's place for her Birthday. Monday I think we are having lunch with Tiffany's parents... So its a somewhat busy weekend now to see if i can keep up with all tihs soreness and stiffness....

The guys got a game of ultimate organized yesterday. I realized how out of shap i am about 10 minuets into the game. I also managed to catch the frisby with my face once, well i guess i didn't really catch it as much as it bounced off and left a mark under my eye. But its all good.. It was fun...

But its another great day out. So far the plan is to take pictures around town with Tiffany.

I'd say that could describe what Chris and I do. We have all sorts of digital goods stored. We gather what looks good and keep it stashed away indefintly or until it doesnt look so good anymore. Thus we now have someplace in the neighborhood of 400GigaBytes of storage setaside just for such packratting, and we upgrade at least once a year if not more. Why? some of you may be asking. Mostly because we can. Its also something todo and has provided many learning experinces with linux for me and keeps me learning. Lots of other reasons as well.

In a digital age where something comes something can just as easily exist as it can not. As any record or trace of a conversation can be gone with a click or keystroke. I prefer to keep record to see what has been said, to look back to see to learn. I do this daily (with a few exceptions) to preserve my thoughts and feelings on a particular day or time just to do it. I have few reasons not to and few reasons to do so other than I can and I may learn something from it and something from people who may post comments. I also, unlike many but also with many embrace digital with my lifestyle and ways. I look up movie times on my phone, check the weather on my phone, read news on my clie when I'm not online, often have my digital camera with me to capture moments and scenes. Why because I can, because I know how, because I learn from it, I learn about me and my suroundings, my peers of the digital realm and the analog.

I think I've been doing this for about a year now.... I know there isn't a years worth of entrys yet but thats because I started off with a couple diffrent programs/methods and didn't bother to save those...

While updating MT yesterday I realized how much I do need to do somekind of overhaul/clean up around here.

I am pulling 4th for ranking at google for "Henry Rollins Quotes"... From the looks of my stats Since that new quotes engin/page I've been pulling all sorts of extra trafic.. Kindof exciting and neat. That adds some modivation to the revamp/rewrite of the site. Too bad I still have to do lots of figuring before i can effectivly tackle some of the things...

I got windows 2k installing on my POS dell laptop that is pretty much just to play with and test crap on... anyways i did it so I could use it to talk to my phone's IR port and install stuff to my phone with it.... Its a lot of work for something so small and silly really but It wasn't doing anything else... Maybe I will find something else for it to do... Maybe not...

Man like 2 hours ago I think I had a good idea for a post now I can't remember it... I guess thats how things go sometimes. Work is again slow and nearly non-productive. That may change later this week as we are having a couple of classes more than normal but that should be no big deal.

3 day weekend on its way. Which should be good. Tiffany is having a gathering at her place on Sunday is celebration of her birthday, which in realaity is tomorrow (May 21st).

On the geekier side of things I think I will be upgrading Moveable type sometime soon as I am using a revision thats slightly old... Hopefuly you wont be able to tell once ive done it.. Kala maybe able to tell as she uses Moveable type for her page but it should just give us more features and options to work with... Speaking of this site and moveable type, anyone else interested in having somekind of page around here? anyone?

I think I'm gonna go poke around online some.

11:51am: Phew. I thought i done fucked up bad. Cause when i upgraded MT i forgot to go change the shebang line at the start of all the scripts that make MT and kept getting errors. So far i see no diffrences. I should go look at the change log...

Didn't sleep so great last night. Got home early and hung out with chris for a while and started the honey upgrade process.

Then once i did get home and to my computer i has decided to start whining a very high pitch which is very damn annoying. Its sounding like its time for a new harddrive or 2 for me. which is annoying as well... For now I've actually put the side back on to my computer to muffel the noise, it almost works. grrr... and oh boy i just discovered usb problems... I don't know if im glad that i got up early or not...

10:22am: Honey is getting closer to being finished. Latertoday I will mostlikely be going over to complete work or do other work on her... I haven't exactly decided what I'm gonna do or how I'm gonna do it... Although thats not too abnormal we often wing it but everytime we do better.

Well it at least looks like it is going to be a decent day out.

There is a really stupid/silly lawsuit going down between SCO and IBM. Involving one of my loves. Linux... SCO Claims IBM has stolen closed source code from them and has put it in the Linux kernel. If you look around you can find plenty of news coverage online. Many people don't belive SCO has a foot to stand on as they refuse to let anyone know anyhting other than aligations. Many also belive that SCO wants to be bought out by a nice big corperation such as IBM, because SCO is a turd of a company that has been slowly dieing over the years. SCO also claims once its finished with IBM that it is going to go after other Linux distrubutions such as RedHat and SuSE. I doubt there will be much of SCO left after IBM is done with them, as cases such as this are quite costly (read millions upon millions) and IBM has quite a bit bigger bank roll than SCO. SCO made something in the millions in 2002 while IBM was someplace in the Billions. I won't get into detail about SCO's other false/misleading alegations/statements involving the suit....

I my self find some humor in the whole situation. And think SCO has about a snowballs chance in hell. They are playing dirty and cheap.

Honey should be getting upgraded tomorrow at some point. going from 80gigs Mp3 stroge space to 120GB. Total capacity of honey after the upgrade could be up to 420GB or as low as 340GB depending on what we leave in and what we take out, I'm hoping for the higher or someplace inbetween. mmmm GigaBytes of storage goodness.....

Quite enjoyed reloaded. many people poopooed it for various reasons. I think they a) expected tooo much from it b) not too bright nor really understand the movie that well. How might not someone be able to understand the movie you ask? well its easy there is a lot of technical and philisofical and theoretical type shit going on there and some people don't get exactly what the matrix is or how it works. So they bitch about Neo doing his superman thing and the like.... But some loved it soo i guess it balances out.... I think it had much more humor than the 1st did.... But its been a long time since I've seen the 1st. But I will be sing the 3rd once it comes around in November I think it is.... What better way to follow up a summer box office smash than wth a winter box office smash...

Now I think I'm gonna go do something thats not infront of the comptuter...

2:12pm: So I just had a thought. Not a very good one. But what do we think about a page with just posts about news and other things that we find interesting. I dont think it would be exactly opened to all but all could contribute by e-mailing me and or one of the other moderator type folks to decided weather or not to put it online and have it open for comments and discussion?

In only a matter of hours now I will be seeing Matrix Reloaded. I've read a few reviews online. Some say good some say bad. Even if its nothing but eye candy ass kicking I think it will be worth it to see how the brothers pushed the evnvelope this time around.

So the weather forcast for today said basicaly that today would be clowdy and crapy. Meanwhile on my way to work there were very few clowds and the ones that I could see you pretty much see right through them... I serisously hate the weather people, they are worthless. They should only get paid when they are right.

I think I've decided I'm going to use Moveable type to help with the new look of things. It will be the content management/posting/comment system(if i decided to let people comment on the 1st page)... I may use it for one section or all of them I'm not sure yet.

Since I'm working on a rebuild/revamp of junknstuff.net does anyone out there want a page of somekind? if so add a comment, e-mail me, or IM me telling me who you are, what you want to do and why i should let you etc...

I also updated the comic thing that I mentioned yesterday that is pretty much for just me and Chris. It's now smarter... Well kinda...

I made a nifty page thismorning. But its just for me and Chris right now. And prolly forever unless someone else i know or meet down the line enjoys the same 3 online comics we do.

I've had a couple ideas for the new page/setup of things once i get going on them. Its just a matter of learning enough to make it work... Which I am slowly doing. I think I got the database table setup for the home page and maybe more setup yesterday...

Got to hang out with Cat yesterday. Saw her new Mustang that she got. That was fun.

It's all nice outside. Its great. The week isn't going as quick as I would have liked, but it hasn't been bad at all, slightly boring yes, bad no.

A lovely day out. So was yesterday. You wouldn't guess that it was pouring down rain on sunday night.

Had a firedrill at work. loads of fun I tell you. I have to wear a goofy outfit (look at chris in the people section) and tell people where to go. Pretty stupid really but oh well.

In case anyone was wondering I can fit four taco bell burritos in my left cargo pocket of one of my pair of pants.

Friday i got a rebate for my scanner I bought a while back. I was really plesntly suprised, as i never count or thing that a rebate will come as there have been times where they havent for me and my friends. but $30 is $30 and I'm not gonna argue with free money.

looks to be another uneventful week of work. With the exception of 1) turing in my time card 2) a evacuation drill tomorrow that I get to show stupid state workers how to get out of the building and point them down the stairs. But Friday I have tickets for the Matrix reloaded at 3:30 in Eugene. That should be fun.

Spent about an hour this morning cleaning up dupes on honey and moving songs around. I'm thinking I need some kind file/mp3 management/database software for honey to make this like this easier. Cause its a pain in the ass and thats the reason it dosn't get done.

And the reason the new look doesn't get done is cause I'm lazy and not sure how the database will be setup.... I should work on that next as i can't make any progess until then really. perhaps I will put a test site up sometime soon.

This weekend seemed short to me.... oh well. Maybe this week will go quick too.

Sucks to be my dad. He was going to he headed to Grants Pass for mothersday. But his starter died leaving him stuck in Salem for at least another couple days until the part could be found or ordered. He has his 4 wheeler on the back and everything. I was going to be hitching a ride to Eugene with him so I was nearly stuck too but still managed to get to Eugene to spend the weekend with Tiffany.

Then once I got down here with her we stoped by a party for a little bit. She took some semi candid shots with my camera as it can see well in not so great lighting condintions and take resonably decent pictures in low/no light conditions with no flash. So some people didn't even realiz she was taking pictures...

Later today we are off to her parents house for birthday/mothers day thing. A bunch of her familys April/May birthdays and mothers day all done at once... That should be interesting.

My head hurts.
I haven't done any real work today to speak of.

I think I just made a couple desisons on how I going to make new page work and act. But I'm not sure. I will hae to play some 1st... My difficulty is setting it up to be modulare and flexible etc. If i wasn't concerned with that I could just slap a new look down. But I want to just be able to update a couple things and have everything be updated like the navigation etc. Which isn't as easy as just making a page with php and some html and calling it good.

Tiffany was in town yesterday. That was nice. As always. And I go back down tomorrow to see her and ride down with my old man that should be decent.

So development on the newlook has slowed quite a bit. My only excuse is I'm not sure how I want to make it work. I know how I want it to look and the stuff that I'm going to have it do. Its just how am i going to make it do those things. lots of IFs? lots of functions? Lean classes? read files? use MySQL? make new DB's or use exisisting things? Many other questions too but I've already most likely bored you to tears with those.

I've been really bored at work lately and earned some free ceritifcations over at brainbench... Maybe they will help me get a new job... I can dream right...

Chris may be getting a domain soon. Mainly for the reason of a constant e-mail address. But also most likely means a website of some sort as well as subdomains... I will most likely endup making the website, as Chris doesn't code, as well as using a couple of the subdomains for things like my picture server. I would do subdomains but my hosting company charges for them which isn't ok with me nor my bank account. So when and if he does get hosted my picture server would become something like sallyshears.chrisdoamin.com or pictures.chrisdomain.com well you get the idea.

Now to the normal ranting. The weather has been totaly fucked the last few days. All shitty like in the morning threating to rain until about 2 or 3 pm when it gets sunny and clear out. Mean while the weather fuckers say rain, showers, and overcast. I have no respect for weather men they just guess. If i was a weather man I'd always say there was a chance of rain as its oregon. I'd also say that there was a chance that it wouldnt. Also a 1% chance of monsoon just for fun.

I did some work on my new page look yesterday. I managed write a function/procedure that re titles the page. I think I'm going to work on that type thing for a little while to make page generation simple and easy. If I do things right I may be able to just have a couple files generate all the pages. Which would be kinda nice.

Sometimes I love my job. Others I hate it. Now its pretty sweet. I'm sittin in a room alone waiting for 9ish computers to set them selfs up, in another room. While listening to the Beastie Boys... So easy sometimes...

I spent most of yesterday converting CDs to MP3s. For Tiffany so she can have all her CDs as MP3 as she has a mp3 player in her car. The only problem is she has well over 100 CDs so its a long slow boring process. I did something like 52 yesterday I think I have just less than a 100 togo. But I dont think I will be doing it like that again today or anytime soon really. Just a few at a time rather than a lot...

I plan on workin on the new look of junknstuff.net once i get home. I think I will tackle the DB portion of it, maybe.... Or I just might learn more PHP to make things more flexible and easy to manage... Maybe not... I will just have to see how I feel once I get started....

Thinking about how to get a job in eugene. That I should go for the sadly outdated A+ certification and possibly a Microsoft one as well (just an MCP, Certifyed Professional). Just a few problems 1) Money it costs money to take these tests 2) Distance the A+ tests are in Wilisonvile while the MS tests are in Beverton both being a problem for me not having a car.... Maybe other certs later like the RedHat but I really don't have the $$ for that... Grrr. Frustrating and depressing is what things add up to be.

until things get worked out I'm just going to keep applying and tring for work until I can get some more stuff worked out.

The weather roumours say that the weather will be improving over the week. I do hope so. Cause those 2 days of sun were pretty damn nice and I as I'm sure many of you enjoy sun over rain and icky cold cloudy gray wetness. Also better weather means more pictures.

I'm thinking about making a visitor/user picture's section. You send me the pics and I put them up and everyone can enjoy them, possibly comment on them etc. Does anyone like this idea? Or have sugestions to build on this idea etc?

I haven't made much more progess on the new pages as I still have to mentaly decide how I'm going to make things work... Things like do i make the menu a database table or a file thats simply read in. Or do I use Moveable type in the back end and then use my own SQL/PHP to read the posts out to the pages via categorys.... I'm sure I will make some progress durring the week. If I'm not out enjoying my camera.

Its damn nice to have a camera again.... In case you didnt figure it out.

The weather got crapy for the weekend. Which kinda sucks, cause now its not as fun to play with my new camera. A Sony Cybershot 717... Its fun. Got 2 diffrent nighttime modes a laser focusing system and all sorts of bells and whistels.

I think I'm gonna go wonder around and play with it.

3:30pm: I just wanted to say that this is total and uter bullshit. This frustrates me, saddens me, as well as angers me. Not to mention makes me ashamed to be an American. The fact that this kind of thing is even tolerated in the US anymore is wrong... I say FUCK Georgia...

Days like today I love my job. Beautiful outside expected temp of 70F and I'm off work before noon and plenty of time to enjoy the weather. Not to mention Tiffany will be coming today as she does every (damn near anyways) Thrusday... The problem is that the forcast says its all down hill from here. 68 and cloudy tomorrow and then showers on the weekend.

So there is minor progress on the new pages. Still in the look process not the where content comes from or how anything works yet. After a while I may show you so you can see and most likely tell me you don't like it only to make me start all over from scrath again...
