Looks like Junknstuff is going to push it's fisrt gig this month. The data transfered is normaly in the 700s someplace. I'm not completly sure what the draw to the site causing the extra traffic was but hey I'm ok with it. A reason for celeberation?
I think I've found a winning cheap digital camera. If it is still around come time to build the all seeing mirror I will purchase it. But other things have priority right now.
Nathan how did you get the dog slobber cleaned of the exploders windows? I got some filmy crap that makes windex cry like a little girl and just smears around.
Just the other night I was telling an upset tiffany to be glad the one of the cat's didn't crap in her shoes or on the floor or bed when she found cat crap in the shower. Well today I find evidance of one of them using a rubbermade crate of my clean clothes for a litter box. I'm not sure what I what I did to the cats to piss them off so. First the scratch now this, come to think of it the poop in the shower may have been intended for me as I'm the first one up and out of bed in the morning and the 1st place I go is the shower.
Played a lotta games last night. I was the most suck player at halo 2. I did alright in Ghost Recon, better tha Nathan most of the time. Sean and I were denied access to the midway pleasure dome in Total Carnage because we didn't get enough keys or killenough soviet generals. We did however rescue manage hostages and kill a huge Hitlar head. Anyways it was fun last night.
I left around 11 mostly because I was tired. But I took the long way home went up Dillard for the tiwsties and got gas outside of Eugene then came home, fed the cat and went to bed.
I also washed my car yesterday.
So I've looke a little into my "insane" idea from yesterday. Turns it could most likely be done for under $100 or under $50 if I go with a extracrapy camera and sacrafice the use of a memory card, which I wouldn't be doing. I doubt I will be doing it for less than $100 for the featuers I want. There is a great how to from engadget.com that will allow the camera to just take pictures on it's own via use of a cheap timer. The hard part would be making the memory card and batterys easy to get to while keeping everything else in the mirror casing and not having it look sloppy or messy.
So I was rolling over or get adjusted in bed last night and one of the cats decides a it's a great time to jump from the window and happens to catch my upper right brow with a claw so no I have a big scratch right above my right eye brow.
I've decided I want a new small camera. But not to keep in my pocket or in my glove box. I want to take it appart and mount it in my rearview mirror and have it face foward so I can take pictures of whats in front of me. Maybe setup a timer so it takes pics every X ammount of time. Why you ask. Why not? The only reason why not right now is money. But I might do it someday. If I do I will be sure to show you how it was done.
The important thing is it's weekend. Tiffany will be going to Corvalis to hang with her friends and I will hang out with Nathan tomorrow and play videogames. If weather isn't suck maybe dodgeball. Oh and maybe get my CD if it showed up and my sister got her hands on it.
Also I must wash my car.
I thought the people I speak to were supposed to be IT professionals or at least be some what technical. Some of them don't even know what I mean when I ask what is the operating system for your parimary (productname) server. I don't mind if you have to check or double check the server OS. But not knowing what I mean when I ask is unacceptable! I think the stupidity of people broke me today. Beer might fix it. At least tomorrow is Friday.
I've got nothing else.
I think some people that I talked today had to have someone dial the phone for them as they did not seem capable of flipping a light switch without assistance from a caretaker or someone more qualified than them. I can only imagine how Nathan must have suffered today.
The week is more over than not at this point so thats a plus.
The good news is my sister will be in town this weekend and will bring the CD if it shows up in time. It was shipped usps so it's hard to tell when it will show up. But the amazon esitmate was the 27th so hopefuly new CD this weekend sometime.
It's eat time.
CRAP! Turns out I had the cd I ordered last week sent to my old address in Salem. I blame Amazon cause all my other 1 click orders have gone to the right place. Why all the sudden the wrong one? I don't recall making changes. I just deleted the old address but now I've got to trek to Salem and vist my mom to get my damn CD.
I just caught word of a 2 cent gas tax hike on the already 3 cent gas tax. They are doing it for road repairs, which are much needed in this damn town. I would like to take a moment and blame the tards who bike everyplace. Because they are paying ZERO (assuming a bike is their soul means of transportation) road taxes but they are using the same roads. I say we charge extra for bike repair kits, tires, and bikes or make a manditory registration/taxation process for bikes and use the income to maintain roads and bike trails. Oh and their bikepaths I pay for those too with my gas taxes.
I am ok with college students who cannot afford cars or parking.
I'm already paying into all kinds of goverment funded things for poor people who are too fat and lazy to get off their asses and get a real job and who raise kids who have to be put in any number of special programs because of learning difficultys and/or behavioral problems.
Why must I pay for bike paths that I don't use. I'm upset by the fact that the biking populous of this hippie damn town gets a free ride of the gas taxes I pay for. I bet the increased gas tax will just make more people who would be driving their VW minibus' around ride their bikes even more thus causing another hike in the damn tax.
I have come up with a solution. Buy gas in surrounding citys, Glenwood, Springfield, Loraine (if they have a gas station), Creswell, etc.
Got my watch back. So now I have two Luminox watches. There are still plenty of watches I want, like a Tissot T-touch.
Looks like they attempted to deliver Tiffany's new superphone today. So I will get to look at and possibly play with that tomorrow.
I just wasn't feeling it at all today at work. I don't think it slowed me down much if at all but I just wasn't feeling it. Perhaps it's because today was supposed to be the "worst day of the year" or someting like that.
I'm gonna watch some more strong bad.
Spent part of the day at Tiffany's parents helping her dad setup a web server. I must say I'm quite impressed with Fedora Core 3. Granted it was my first Fedora install but it went as smooth as exptected. The new Xserver seems to be much more responsive. I used redhat for years and the pervious Xserver on much better hard ware than the 350Mhz 256Mb machine used today and I was quite impressed with this performance.
I also found the bluetooth thing to loan Nathan so that he can customize his new to him old to me phone.
I get my watch back tomorrow after work.
Mini road trip today. Went to Salem to do a couple of touristy type things. Then took the coast way home cause we did't geta hold of Cat in time. We stoped at the outlet stores but got nothing. Long day spent mostly in the car.
Now I have a headache and am home. Tomorrow I may hang with nathan and resume the backup process we had started but then he lost power so we get to start it up again.
I go now. Mein head hurts.
I just found out that the CIA Fact Book is avaiable for free online and even to download. I'm personaly thrilled with it. I love central locations for large amounts of detailed information regarding anything. And belive all such sources should be free.
This has got to be the best thing I've read all week, maybe even all month.
I just bought a New CD I love the 1 click buy thing at amazon.
I also think I may have found a way to keep track of all the music in my car. It's a bit crude but it takes the tech to get crude. It's really quite simple. Run the "tree" command on a the disc and piple the output to a text file, reformat it (size), lable it, print it BAM index for the 6 discs in the trunk. I haven't done this yet because I haven't put new music in since I figured it out and I'm too lazy to bring the discs in to do it. So next round I will. I could also maybe use a Clie to do it as I got a couple of those laying around...
I was linked to by the Unoffical Blackberry, Weblog and Kat!. I feel special.
Fatal shooting ruled justified. I'm more upset by the reaction of the deceased's family. He was attacking a woman and pulled a gun on a guy tring to help her. Does it really matter if it was loaded? The guy was obviously a fuckup and an asshole. His family can see him in hell for all I care.
Also my X-box seems to be un-moddable.Which is quite frustrating. I've still got a few options. 1) trade for an older one. 2) get another mod chip and solder the fucker on. 3) find someone else to do it 4) sell it buy an older one 5) give up. I'm damn frustrated thats for sure.
Another meetup for the Eugene Blogging type people. Those don't normaly go too long and if it does I will have to bail early to see Chris who will be fixing my x-box with me once he gets here with it. He also has some wine he brewed(?) for Tiffany.
I saw a car in the grass inside of a tight on ramp to I5 from beltline on my way home from work. Damn that was funny I just bet it was someone who thought they could make it at a higher speed than possible and lost it. And it was a small hatch back the kind people often like to do stupid things too like exessive wings, coffee can mufflers.
My thing for my X-box showed up. I think Chris comes back with my X-box tomorrow evening. So that will be super cool.
The weather was fantasic today. I even opened the sunroof for the drive home. I saw some day light on my way home from work.
I'm putting down the php pareser thing for tonight. At least for the moment maybe if I feel moved I will get back on it but fornow I don't plan on it.
I think I got most of what I was attempting to accomplish done with my javascript tihng now I just need to write something in php to parse a damn html so I can pull 3-6 charaters out of it. I've been hurrting my brain on that one for a while now too. Maybe that will come to me tomorrow.
My new phone rules.
I've almost hurt my head tring to figure something out. I'm still tring to figure it out... if I ever figure it out. It would be a tie in for my bandwidth visualizer. But Javascript is not one of my strong points. I'm sure it doesn't help that I've been working all day and using my brain so when I get home it attempts to shutdown on me. If anyone is a javascript master let me know I need help.
I want to take a nap but it's too damn late for a nap. So I guess I will return to my javascript thingy.
Got my blackberry all configurated. It did take a call to t-mobile. The bad news is I had to sign up for another optional thingy that costs me more money but the good news is I'm on a better plan for less money so it evens out I may still be coming out ahead some too. Now I can use Yahoo Instant Messgner, AIM and ICQ not to mention browse the internet with my phone. I will leave the other cool stuff off for now. It only took a transfer to get it worked out. The best part was when I thanked the person helping me for calling...
Went to the car show with Nathan, Sean, Lisa and Eiji. I prefer the Porland one with all the big names this one had most of them but by no means all. Like Audi, Porche, Jag, Rover, and more all missing. They didn't even have the new Corvett but the did have the new Mustang. BMW's section was rather weak with maybe 6 cars and none of them with the Mdesignation which made me sad. Oh and no concept cars.
Tiffany has Tomorrow off I don't. Oh well.
I got a new phone. It's a blackberry 7100t. I'm still tring to figure a couple things out and I'm starting to think I may need to call customer support to get everything on it setup/adjusted as I am unable to access t-zones or the IM features. But I seriously hate calling those places. Granted I've never had a problem with t-mobile or voicestream or even had a bad customer service experince. I just plain don't like calling places for help. I hardly like calling my friends.
Just after I got the phone last night Tiffany and I went to see The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Enjoyed the movie. Good cast.
Going to the car show today with Nathan and some other people I think...
I need to eat.
I'm taking more counter measures against spam. I know dusty thinks I should go to a newer version of MT. I'm almost having fun fighting it in my own way. My next step is the use of htaccess to deny entire netblocks from access to the whole damn site. It's a bit extreme yes, but perhaps it will make a point and slow things down a bit and maybe make a statement to someone, though i doubt it.
So Dusty is attempting to challenge my geekness simply because I don't have a cam setup like his punkass. I've got the cam now what do I point it at? it will be on 24/7 for the most part. The cats are not an option because they just laydown wherever they want, sometimes the couch, sometimes the bed, sometimes the middle of the floor, othertimes it's right out side the bathroom, sometimes it's in the bathroom, sometimes we find murray in a cuboard because they cats are so much cooler than dusty's dog who just lays in one place the cats are out. I don't want the cam pointed at me, Tiffany didn't seem to like the idea of it being pointed at her. The drive way would be quite boring as well as the planned parenthood parking lot. Right now it's kinda pointing at the laptop that is doing the work in the den but as its a laptop as long as there is power near by it can pretty much go anyplace.
Tomorrow I wash my car while Tiffany goes to a cousin's birthday thing. It's about damn time I got to clean my car too it's fucking fithly.
Just saw Without a Paddle with Chris and Tiffany. It takes place in Oregon and supposedly wraps up in Lane county some place. Except it wasn't lane county at all... And they were showing crap that I've never seen in oregon like kids riding a HUGE ass pig. Other than some of the Oregon stereotypes it was a good movie. Kinda like Stand By Me but more grown up. Good stuff.
Work was a bit better today.
I've also improved on my little bookmark copier thingy. I may do a write up in the techblog...
I have grown tired of not having my damn bookmarks with me when I'm not at home. Some cary them on their thumbdrives. I just wrote a really crappy batch file to drop the bookmarks to folder on my webserver once a day. There for I can get to my bookmarks from anyplace. I may improve my batch script or maybe write a script to run from the server to pull it down every so often if the file is there or has changed... Maybe not... I dunno..
So I was poking around the administrative sections of the site today and noticed something odd. At first I thought it was something I fucked up at some point. So I sent an email. Turns out Ern deleted his blog and self from MT. I was sad to see him go but will welcome him back if he decides to come back. So I did some clean up the commuinty page and removed a couple of the links to non-active pages.
Also many supid people today.
This link is for Nathan.
But I guess you can read it too.
I celebration of my partial refund from my little traffic incident I bought my self another modchip for my Xbox. This one should work on mine. Now it's just a matter of time until it shows up, then its just a matter of Chris to get it installed and working as he has my X-box currently. Meaning he will have to bring it with him or take the chip and bring it all back at some point. So the reward may still be a few weeks off but it will be worth it.
The days are getting longer. Slowly but surely. I can almost see some daylight left as I go home from work and there is a little bit while I am on my way to the grind in the morning. But not nearly enough. I'd like to be able to see what I'm doing if I decide to wash my car after work. I'd also like to get some daylight to play with my camera by.
So Tiffany suprised me with yet another BMW related item yesterday. That being The Complete Book of BMW: Every Model Since 1950. Did you know that the BMW 850 was the first production car with a 6 speed manual transmission back in 1989(not yet available in the US at that point if i recall)? It also had a passive rear stearing system.
Nathan's links to his friends is according to their mode of transporation to me is now "BMW Ben" while Angi and Amy are both "footpad". I would have been a footpad last year this time.
Today was decent for a Monday.
I got a partial refund for my little traffic incident in December. Thats right they sent me money back even after my one line explanation letter and the memo line on the cheak reading "I fucked up".
Tiffany got me all sorts of goodies for my camera. A Sigma lense, a remote, a filter and cleany cloth things, oh and another card reader that will live with my camera case.
Drove go-carts in Vancover, we didn't get dinner at the Rheinlander because of large lunch and I think the fumes at the indoor go-cart track got to us too. But I did get a bit tipsy back at Chris's place watching all the sealab 2021 he has on his Tivo
A coworker decided to get me a birthday gift.

Should I worry that my obsession is becoming much more public and obvious? No help from friends of course who have purchased all my BMW stuff. Cat with the Keyring, Tiffany with the T-shirt, Chris with the Z8, Renada with the Plate thingy.
So I got an envelope from my insurance provider today. As I opened it I said something to my self and the evelope about hoping they weren't dropping me because of that ticket thing in December. Turns out my insurance is getting cheaper by $20 about month rather than getting more expensive which I was prepared for. It will probably go up next time it's time to renew my policy. Meanwhile Chris who has been with them for longer than I has not had his rates go down and he is paying more than me... SUCKER!
Tomrrow is looking like Portland and gocarts then dinner someplace, most likely The Rheinlander.
I think this week is defective. 4 days of work but it seems like 7 so far. I swore today should a been Friday. Some of my coworkers felt the same way.
Got an email today from Scott D, another highschool comrad. He shares a bday with me so there was the wishing of a happy bday and a link to the Tha Shizzolator. So that has been added to the pimpin section.
Tomorrow brings us to Friday and it's about damn time.
I nearly forgot Don (I work with him) decided my Z8 model from Chris needed a driver.

Angi sat with me for the last part of the day to listen to calls and learn what to do and how to work things. We didn't do much cause there wasn't much to do. I mostly bored her with BMW talk cause I'm good at that.
Nathan is buying a Jeep on Saturday. Nathan plans to make it into a serious off road vehicle. He also said he and his wife want in next time I/We do a lookout type camping trip. How they will do that with Nadia is beyond me but perhaps she would come too.
I'm still tring to work out plans for Saturday. Still thinking dinner in Portland at the Rheinlander with some people but I would like to think of something else to do with them as it's a 2 hour drive to Portland and thats a bit far just for a meal. A stop at Bullwinkels? Malibou Grand Prix? other?
I forgot to mention that monday I bought the 1st season of Sealab 2021 on DVD. And Sunday I got Season 3 of Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
Nearly done hurt my thinker. Been working on another page that is nowhere near as exciting or cool and I ended up setteling on something else all together cause some of the stuff I was tring to achive just wasn't going to happen. Some of the stuff wasn't happening right. So I went with plan B. it works ok. I may do more to it later but once I decide it's done it goes up and I will let you all know even though I know you really don't care about a contact page...
Wholy crap. One of the Executives just came by with an assistant and gave out HUGE umbrellas with the company logo on them. It's a nice umbrella but it is destined to live in my trunk as umbrellas are for wimps.
RSVPed for the Wedding Colorado. Chris gave the go ahead for tickets to be purchased via another friend. I will still have to cover a hotel room or at least part of one and perhaps part of a rental car. Not to mention wedding present(s). So I'm again going to attempt to slow my spending to be able to afford the trip/wedding.
But I did spluge a bit today and got some leather car stuff for my car, a new sprayer for the hose and the first season of sealab 2021 on DVD.
I made it to BMW about the bulb but the guy wasn't sure which one it was gonna take as there are 3 diffrent bulbs in the cluster but it was eventualy determined that it is the middle 3 watt bulb. So I am gonna call bavauto sometime this week and see if they can send it off to me as I don't want to deal with the dealer when I can have it delivered to my damn door.
I bring you the Bandwidth Visualizer allowing one to see about how many floppys of data their website transfered last month or see howmany zip disks it will take to transfer that home movie to a friend.
Today I'm gonna head to the BMW dealership today and see if I can get some help or at least the bulb I need for my speedometer needle which only only partly lights up. Which is unacceptable to me. It's a nice day so I may wash my car today, perhaps wax it again as well.
Chris stayed the night last night. He brought my christmas present. It's a model BMW Z8 It's gonna live in my cube at work.
I'm thinking about getting together some smallish group of photographer type people, friends and strangers alike, to all get together every so often travel someplace and go nuts. Kind of like a fieldtrip but not related to school. The idea is anyone who wants can come along this isn't meant to be an exclusive club for people with serious cameras and who know what they are doing. It would be for people who want to hang out with other people and get out and have a good time and take some pictures along the way. If anyone would be interested in helping organize such a thing comment, email, im, or call me.
The new thing is nealry ready to go. Images are still in the works the 1st attempt at them could have came out better. I do need to give credit to Tiffany for helping/photoshoping all but the originals of the images.
I know I will have trouble heeding my own advice but Make the Best of this New Year.
much love.
Last night was spent with movies, a rum and Dr. Pepper, Tiffany the cats and my laptop. I only half paid attention to the 2nd movie because I distracted my self with a php project which I'm putting the finishing touches on today. Then I style it up, chop the images up and show it off. As long as I don't get too lazy it should be up by monday at the latest.
