More Human Than Human

I had spent a good part of that weekend looking at photo of my TV with the shot I was so enamored with and thinking of who to use for the shot then near the end of the weekend it hit out of no where, Cristy! So I asked her if she'd be willing to help next time I talked to her. She agreed and last night she came over and I think we did a pretty decent job.

This was pretty much the first time I've worked with someone and had a plan on what I was wanting to capture/create. It being my first planned shoot I was a bit nervous leading up to the event but I was over it by the time she arrived. After all it was purely to satisfy a creative itch and for fun.

Is it over yet? Pleae can it be over.

I am glad elections are only every four years. Cause I'm so done with this race.

Can I please opt out of all the political ads, all the articles on the various news sites, all the asinine discussions overheard at work, all the damn yard signs, bumper stickers, phone calls, volunteers asking me questions at my door, pamphlets in the mail. Can I please opt out now? I mailed my ballot in last weekend. I am done. I voted, mailed my ballot out day after I got it nearly a week ago.

Four years from now I may leave the country, unplug, and avoid newspapers and many other periodicals for a few weeks. Unfortunately I still have a few weeks of this.

Forcing the Calm

Today I was overwhelmed by an anxious, nervous, tense energy. Bonnie and I speculated a bit over instant messenger today. We came up with nothing conclusive.

One theory was caffeine from the Guyaki tea I had with my omelet this morning. However I've had those many a time with no problems. Caffeine has never done that to me before, however I suppose its not outside the realm of possibility even though unlikely. But it's the best we could come up with.

Pretty much as soon as I got home I did some stretching and went for a quick 2 mile run. I've been back for about an hour now. We will see how it goes.

Sleep Disturbance

Woke up around 1am and couldn't get back to sleep until sometime after 4am. So when i woke up again at 5:25am I called in to work saying I wouldn't be in. Then slept, lightly for another couple hours. It was quite frustrating and annoying actually. I haven't had a problem sleeping like that in a long long time. I've had nights where I had trouble getting to sleep or just didn't sleep as well as I thought, or nights where I didn't get enough.

So I'm hoping to not have a repeat tonight. Not planning on taking a nap or anything so hopefully I will be nice and tired by the time bed time rolls around.

Damn Ridley

Damn Ridley Scott. Philip K. Dick too for that matter. I picked up blade runner on blu-ray last weekend. I've always liked the movie, Ridley tends to get in my head and Philip K. Dick does as well just to a lesser/different extent. But the combination of the two is pretty much mind bending to myself.

Anyways after watching the making of discs this weekend, the more I learned about the movie the making of and history just made me like it more, It also showed some shots that didn't make it into the movie. Anyways now I've got at least one photograph I want to take, but that may take some time...

Circadian Disruption

Nathan has long last held another game night. It's been nearly a year since his last game night. He used to have them a few times a year, but buying a house, having kids, etc has slowed things down.

I did alright at the games. As per usual I had a fluke round where I'd win once or twice a game then I would proceed to be in last or nearly last until we switched games, in which the cycle would be repeated.

I was up until nearly the early dawn. Likely near 4am when I got to sleep. I likely could have slept until sometime in the afternoon, however I've still got work tomorrow and sleeping until whenever I please wouldn't likely work out so well.

Anything that can keep me up past 3am or even to 3am anymore is usual a good time. I can't think of the last time I was up at early hours not having a good time or coming from a good time.

Stalking Friends

I love the interwebs and the things people do on it.

I've ranted many a time about how I don't like myspace. There is also a hell of a conspiracy theory about facebook having ties to the CIA. Sure they say data mining is not so good but still lots of fun stuff to had with out an account at myspace and twitter... It's fun to stalk people you know online.

I'm no luddite I get it, but don't care or want it. It's not about staying invisible online, I know I'm far from invisible online. But it is some about privacy, I don't need or want to broadcast my stuff to world in short messages nor does the world need to know who I'm friends with. Sometimes it looks like it could be fun, but then I remember I'd have to keep up and it would be yet another username and account.

I really like information and knowing things, that people wouldn't expect me to know. So it can be fun to stalk a few friends with twitter and myspace and their friends too.

update 8:33pm: Seriously?!?!... If i ever do this, someone please remove my junk and the stuff that goes with it.

Last Weekends Dive.

I should have posted earlier this week but I didn't. I'm lazy.

Anyways went for a dive with Chris on Saturday. We were gonna try to do the upper pools at Moulton Falls. But Friday evening was a bit stormy, plenty of rain and some fits of strong wind. So we got to the park and Chris says the water level is up two to three feet from what he had seen the weekend prior, at the lower section. So we went to the upper pool and it was also moving fairly well and pretty low visibility and plenty of sticks, leaves, and other post stormy debris floating by and about. We decided to head for location/plan b: Battle Ground Lake...

The lake was a boring dive. Really boring. Lots of nothing but dirt to see. We did find a couple small boats sunken at the bottom, a pair of size 11 us diver swim fins, three fishing poles, and pair of scissors. I saw a fish that wasn't more than a foot long with fishing line and stuff dangling from him, I think he was the one who got away from someone...

I'll post something again soon... I think...

Blu Rays

I picked up SamsungBD-P1500 BluRay player yesterday, and Iron Man on BluRay to go with it. I could wax on about how great it looks and all but it can be summed up with WOW!

This is a significant gain over DVD. Beyond what DVD was to VHS as far as quality goes, some VCRs with 4 or more heads provide some really good image quality so long as the tape is in good shape.

Wow.
