Well now days there is a lot in a name. Specifically in a domain name. I've already got three (two are the same just one is .org the other .net) and looking for a fourth to execute an idea/project I came up with while in San Francisco. I want the name to be some what relevant to the project but not suck. It's not as easy as one may think, this one detail seems to be my biggest hold up right now.

Once I have name detail worked out. I will be able to get the rest of it going in short order.

Friday Kala and I got up early and checked in for our flight to BWI via SLC. We arrived in Annapolis in time to make the Pre-Wedding party at a bar a couple blocks from our hotel.

There were a couple geek-celebrities at the wedding. One being game legend Sid Meier playing piano at the wedding and the other being Alison Haislip from G4 singing for the wedding. Kala and I got to talk to Alison quite a bit but never did cross paths with Sid.

Monday we got home after what seemed like for-ev-ver on the plane(s) back to PDX.

Today/Night we pack up again and head south to Sacramento for Thanksgiving. Then once down there we hope to hit San Francisco for a MOMA exhibit and also the Egypt exhibit in town.

I was talking to Kala the other day and commented something about how many of my friends who have gone and had kids have gone on be defined by their offspring. I have said before I don't want to be defined by my job. I also don't want to be defined by child or children I may have someday.

Kala asked what do I want to be defined by as well as a couple of other very good questions. I didn't have a real good answer for what I want to be defined by nor the other questions but I do have an I idea of what I don't want.

But what I do know is. I have my job because I am a geek and always have been. My job doesn't make me a geek. I have many of my toys because I like to tinker, play, and enjoy their features, utility, or lack there of in some cases. I still don't know what I want to define me but maybe that is because I don't want any one thing to do define me.

I've been meaning to post about my new camera. On Halloween I picked up a Canon Powershot S90. I had been planning on taking an oh so interesting shot of it with my 30D to post here, but but I couldn't be bothered to actually do it. It is one slick little camera.

It is far more flexible than most point and shots I've come across and even the ones that can do manual type modes like Shutter and Aperture Priority it is far easier to use them with this camera thanks to the multi-functional ring around the lens, which can focus, change shutter, adjust aperture, raise or lower ISO, and zoom.

Its fast too F2.0 when its wide open when at the wide end of the zoom. It is also pretty quick as the shutter delay is quite a bit lower than many point-n-shoots I've encountered in the last couple years...
